Registration Enhancements Illinois Department of Human Services / Division of Mental Health and Illinois Mental Health Collaborative Present Registration Enhancements June 2009

Implementation of Enhancement These enhancements will be implemented Friday, 6/26/09. ProviderConnect will be unavailable from Friday, 6/26/09 at 8:00 PM Central through Saturday, 6/27/09 at 1:00 PM Central 1

New Medicaid Fund Code MCD – New fund for Medicaid eligible consumers The MCD fund will be updated on the Collaborative system from the daily HFS eligibility file This represents no change in procedure or submission or processing of claims. This is an enhancement to the system to permit easier tracking of dollars used to pay for services for Medicaid eligible individuals and non-Medicaid eligible individuals. 2

MCD and ABC Funds Registration is required for a provider to be eligible for reimbursement under the MCD and ABC funds (this does not represent a change in policy) If a consumer’s current registration is valid after 7/1/09 and the consumer has the new MCD fund as of 7/1/09 the consumer does not need to be re-registered in order to have benefits under the MCD fund. Current consumer registration is effective 4/1/09 and ends 10/1/09 then as of 7/1/09 the MCD fund will be allowed for the consumer. The consumer does not need to be re-registered until 10/1/09. 3

MCD and ABC fund – claims re-imbursement Claims re-imbursement Rules: (this does not represent change in policy) If the consumer has MCD fund for the date of service and the service is a Medicaid service then claim will be tagged with MCD fund If the consumer has MCD fund for the date of service and the service is a non Medicaid service then claim will be tagged with ABC fund If the consumer does not have MCD fund for the date of service then claim will be tagged with ABC fund 4
