Animal Evolution Project Due on April 10th 2018

Charles Darwin may be the most influential figure in modern scientific thinking with his simple, seemingly obvious, observations regarding the nature of the phenomenal world. Charles Darwin concluded that the explanation for the miraculous complexity of life on planet earth was due to a few simple truths in biological systems. Not only does Darwin’s theory of natural selection neatly explain the origin of species but also offers significant insight into the deep nature of the material world in all the scientific disciplines. The Purpose

What you will actually be doing: For this project you will research the evolutionary history of a modern organism. You will work in groups of two or less. You will be expected to find the modern organism's earliest ancestors and describe in general terms the intermediate species which describe the arc of its evolution. Since Darwin contended that each organism had met the test for survival, you should be able to describe some of the adaptations which define your organism. You should also provide a timeline for your organism’s evolution.  What you will actually be doing:

Step 1:

Step 2: Answer the following Questions The earliest ancestors of your organism and the intermediate (current) forms that led to the modern animal (20 Points) Compare and contrast modern and intermediate (current) specie's adaptations (20 Points) Compare and contrast the environmental conditions that influenced evolution List adaptations of modern species. (20 Points) List modern relatives and their adaptations (20 Points) Describe the timeline associated with the organism’s evolution. (20 Points) Step 2: Answer the following Questions

The Project should include images or Videos no longer then 3:00 minutes. Media:
