A Personal Conclusion…
Great-Grandparents This is Jackson Jack and his wife, Maggie Jack (Cootes). They are my late great- grandparents. I recently came across these photographs from our family recordkeeper, Kathy Happynook, the wife of BC Treaty Commission’s Tommy Happynook.
Grandfather as Toddler This is Ernest Jack, my late grandfather, at roughly age 3. He was born in 1927, and lived in Parksville, BC from 1969 to 2016. This dates the photographs around 1930.
Great-Great-Grandmother This is my grandfather’s grandmother, Ka-ka-cha. She was the wife of my family’s namesake, Old Man Jack. She lived to be over 100 years old. Her English name was Lucille.
Grandfather and Daughter This is my grandfather in October, 2015. He holds in his arms my daughter. She will be the first female in six generations of my family to grow up connected to a self- governing Huu-ay-aht. Her English name is Ezri Lucille Jack.
Klecko, klecko! Thank you, thank you.
