Project Wisdom Doing One’s Best Project Wisdom # 20 February 19, 2014

A few Words of Wisdom Good morning, South Seminole. This is Mr. Bess, Assistant Principal Abraham Lincoln was one of our nation's greatest presidents. If you were to study his entire life, you might be surprised at how many hardships and challenges he faced. He was born into poverty. He lost eight elections during his political career. He failed in business. But Abraham Lincoln believed that we all have a duty — a duty to strive to be the best we can be. And because of his belief and attitude, he eventually became president of the United States.

A duty to strive is the duty of us all. Lincoln once said: A duty to strive is the duty of us all. In other words, we each have a responsibility to do our best. So today, ask yourself this important question: Am I really doing my very best at school, at home, and in my relationships? With something to think about, this is Mr. Bess. Make it a great day… or not. The choice is yours.

Whole Group Discussion Even when we do our very best, we don't always succeed. Have you ever felt you did your best but did not reach the goal you intended? Did it help knowing you had truly done your best? How?
