Chris Squires Hello, my name is Chris Squires and I am from Canada. I don’t like to read the same way most people do. I read magazine articles because they are short and to the point. I like facts, I hate silly stories of fiction as they are a waste of time. BUT there are exceptions. One story that is here in the library is Anne of Green Gables, by Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery. Chris Squires

Anne of Green Gables has sold more than 50 million copies and has been translated into at least 36 languages. The original book is taught to students around the world

Why I like the book: This book raises the spirits of those who have complexes because of its beauty. To forget the greyness of everyday, sad life, you must enhance dreams and imagination, as Anne. We'll find out how they lived, Canadians living in the countryside, at the end of the last century was not easy. It is a novel about a happier time when life was simple and people were more important than possessions; where family and friends were all you had and all you needed.
