AEGIS 2008 Annual Assembly

Изграђена је јака bottom-up интеграција са RS, CG, MK, AL, BG, EL.

AEGIS initiative AEGIS = Academic and Educational Grid Initiative of Serbia National Grid Initiative that will organize and run Serbian eInfrastructure Basic principles: Representative – include all relevant institution nation-wide Inclusive - open for all R&D and HiEd actors willing to share recourses Recognized – by the relevant Government bodies Purpose Represent Serbian GRID community Provide forum for Exchanging experiences and expertise Addressing development, technical, and organizational issues Organize and run Serbian eInfrastructure

AEGIS MoU 1 Motivation: undertaken in response to the growing need for high performance computing resources, building on existing capacities (computing and human resources) experience in operating and using Grid eInfrastructure. continuation of successful ongoing collaboration following the AEGIS Inauguration Meeting held on April 14, 2005. Duration: 5 (five) years. Contact person: Dr Aleksandar Belić, Institute of Physics Belgrade, e-mail: abelic@phy.bg.ac.yu

AEGIS MoU 2 Objectives: Coordinate efforts to further develop academic and educational high performance computing facilities (e.g. computing nodes, storage, instruments, and visualization resources) and help to integrate them into AEGIS infrastructure; Organize dissemination and training activities and help to develop and deploy applications that will benefit from the use of AEGIS infrastructure; Coordinate fund raising efforts to improve AEGIS infrastructure and human resources; Facilitate wider participation of AEGIS members in national and international Grid projects; Help create a national GRID development policy, and support its positioning within an overall National research agenda. Enlargement: interested and competent institutions, based on their experience and capacity to promote and fulfill the AEGIS MoU objectives. Signed by 7 institutions
