An element is a basic part of something in its simplest form There are 7 elements in art
Line,. shape,. form,. texture,. value,. color,. and space Line, shape, form, texture, value, color, and space are the basic elements we find in all artwork.
LINE A path left by a moving point
SHAPE An area contained by a line. Shapes are two-dimensional and can be geometric or free form
Form describes volume and mass; it is three-dimensional.
The surface qualities, both real and simulated, in artwork. TEXTURE The surface qualities, both real and simulated, in artwork.
Refers to the dark or light in a work of art. VALUE Refers to the dark or light in a work of art.
COLOR Depends on light, because it is made of light.
Color has three properties. Hue names the color. Value refers to the lightness or darkness of color. Intensity refers to the purity of the hue.
SPACE When three-dimensions are created on a two-dimensional surface.
