Elements you know Look at the periodic table and find five elements you know and note down what you know about them. ( Get one from the front and stick it at the back of your book)

Elements Materials classed as elements are made from one type of atom An example is copper, this is a orange metal and its useful as a conductor of electricity. Note that most materials are made of more than one type of atom and are therefore not elements e.g. concrete or wood.

Upper and lower case All elements have one CAPITAL letter, but some have a second lower case letter, this must be lower case! Carbon is C Cobalt is Co Cobalt is NOT CO (that is some thing else)
