Integrated EMG (Means and Standard Deviation Error Bars) of the 4 Muscle Sites for Polishing With the 3 Different Handpieces (Corded HP–A, HP–B and Cordless HP–C)Integrated EMG is the area under the rectified voltage-time (V.s) curve, which quantifies total muscle activity. The 4 muscles are: flexor digitorum superficialis, flexor pollicis longus, extensor digitorum communis and extensor carpi radialis brevis. The cordless handpiece (HP-C) resulted in significantly lower integrated EMG for the flexor digitorum superficialis, extensor digitorum communis and extensor carpi radialis brevis muscles (p<0.05).
