IzoT™ Routers and Network Interfaces March 2014

The IzoT Platform: What Echelon Provides Echelon’s platform for the Industrial Internet of Things is the IzoT™ Platform. The name “IzoT” is derived from “IIoT”. The platform enables devices to form communities, where the devices in a community interact directly with each other without requiring servers, routers, or head-end applications. That is the peer-to-peer control portion of the platform. The devices are all IP-enabled, and as a result the platform also enables devices to communicate with applications and cloud-based services through routers. Echelon provides three types of products for the IzoT Platform. First are chips, software stacks, and modules for developing IzoT-enabled devices. Options are provided for both wired and wireless connectivity, providing the flexibility for each application to choose the best media or combination of media. Second are routers for interconnecting different IP links, and for serving Web pages and interfacing to Web applications. Third is software for providing management software and commissioning tools for larger networks. OEM advantages: One architecture drives New use cases, Fewer SKUs, Fast time–to–market Echelon Confidential

Integrate multiple Links and Provide Cloud Access IzoT Routers Integrate multiple Links and Provide Cloud Access Multi-channel FT, RS-485, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi Multi-protocol LonTalk/IP, BACnet/IP, IP-852, and LON LonTalk and BACnet routers for multi-link networks DHCP server for local IP address assignment IzoT Server with REST API for custom Web page support Custom app support 15 - 30V AC or DC powered -10°C to +70°C operating temperature EVK Edition: May 2014 Standalone Release: June 2014

Built-in Multi-Channel Support Models with 1 or 2 built-in Ethernet interfaces Dual Ethernet versions can be used for: Separate WAN and LAN interfaces, similar to a Wi-Fi router Daisy chain installation of multiple IzoT Routers – eliminates cost of and Ethernet switch Models with 1 or 2 built-in LonTalk/IP & LON network interfaces Single-channel versions with one Ethernet port FT with built-in terminator RS-485 Dual-channel versions with two Ethernet interfaces Dual FT with built-in terminators Dual RS-485 One FT + one RS-485 Two built-in RS-485 interfaces For future BACnet MS/TP and Modbus RTU support Not used for LonTalk/IP or LON over RS-485 Not included in the FT 6000 EVK version

External Expansion Options 2 (single-channel version) or 4 (dual-channel version) user accessible USB ports USB ports can be used for different types of expansion Additional LonTalk/IP & LON network interfaces U60 FT DIN Network Interface U60 RS-485 DIN Network Interface For example: to create a 4-channel FT router, use a dual-channel FT IzoT Router plus two external U60 FT DIN Network Interfaces Wi-Fi interface IzoT Wi-Fi Expansion Module Use for setup with a smart phone, WAN, or LAN interface Additional data storage Standard USB flash drive Can be used for application data logging Additional USB ports Standard USB hub

For Developing Web Pages IzoT Server For Developing Web Pages REST Web Pages Collector Database Web Server Ethernet/ Wi-Fi Control Services Linux UDP/IP Stack Controller REST Server Network Server Provides IzoT REST API for Web page and enterprise application development Enables device and datapoint discovery, for example: GET /api/devices Supports reading and writing datapoints, for example: GET /api/datapoints?name=temperature In addition to the device stacks, there is also a server stack that is available as a free download, and is also included on the IzoT Router. The server stack provides a REST API for use by Web pages and enterprise applications. A Web page or application can discover all devices in an IzoT network with a single REST request, shown here. It can also read and write datapoints or groups of datapoints with a single request. The second example shows how a Web page can get all the current temperature values. Echelon Confidential
