The 3 Pathways of TRI-M: Medical Careers Sports Medicine Sport Management

Sports Management Sports management refers to many different areas of the delivery and management of physical activity or sport programs in business, community, public, and private settings. Areas of specialization include: marketing, sports agency, business management, event management, event coordinator, director of athletics, sports information director, club manager, web developer, sports journalism, and sport administration.

Sports Medicine Sports medicine refers to many different areas of exercise and sport science that relate to both performance and care and prevention of injury. Areas of specialization include: orthopedics, athletic training, personal training, sports nutrition, sport psychology, physical therapy, biomechanics, and exercise physiology.

Medical Careers Medical careers refers to any career or opportunity in medicine that is heavily science based and requires many hours of clinical and classroom experience. Areas of specialization include: nursing, medicine, sports physician, physical therapy, specialized medicine, exercise physiology, dentistry, nursing assistant, and more.

Academy pathways Students in this academy will take common courses for two years then personalize their 11 th and 12 th grade years to their career/college interest.

Overview Students will complete academy service hours in addition to their coursework in order to meet academy requirements and experiential learning expectations. Service learning hours will directly support the JFK athletics program in many different areas. Students will be required to follow the academy dress for professionalism while completing their service hours. Students will be prepared for entrance into college and/or careers in the areas of sports medicine, management/business, and medical careers.
