There are three types of citizen participation in government: Autocratic Oligarchic Democratic

Autocratic POWER *ruled by a single person *holds ALL power *NO citizen participation Government Citizens Example: Hitler

Oligarchic POWER *ruled by a small group of people with wealth or power Government Citizens, chosen few Example: King and his advisors

Democratic POWER *people hold supreme power *people elect leaders and rule by majority POWER Government Citizens Example: Sonny Perdue, Governor of Georgia
