This contribution provides two-hop operation of TDC Introduction 802.16n SRD describes two-hop operations of MS to MS direct communication But, 802.16.1a Draft AWD does not contain two-hop operation of talk-around direct communication(TDC). This contribution provides two-hop operation of TDC

Two-hop Operations of TDC Relaying packets on a unicast TDC link An originating HR-MS sends packets on a TDC link A terminating HR-MS receives packets on other TDC link A Relaying HR-MS receives the packets from the originating HR-MS and sends the packets to the terminating HR-MS.

Two-hop Operations of TDC Advertising a relaying HR-MS Relaying HR-MS broadcasts AAI-DC-RELAY-ADV message periodically All HR-MSs receives the message Establishing a relaying TDC link An HR-MS selects a relaying HR-MS for establishment of a relaying TDC link The HR-MS requests the relaying HR-MS to establish a relaying TDC link using AAI-DC-RELAY-REQ/RSP messages. The relaying HR-MS establishes the relaying TDC link to target HR-MS using AAI-DC-LEST-REQ/RSP messages.

Two-hop Operations of TDC Relaying packets on a multicast TDC link An originating HR-MS sends packets on a TDC link Terminating HR-MSs receive packets on other TDC link A Relaying HR-MS receives the packets from the originating HR-MS and sends the packets to the terminating HR-MSs. This provides a fixed service coverage Terminating HR-MSs are Rx MSs

Two-hop Operations of TDC Token management for PTT (1:N) application If MS1 finishes sending packets, it pass the PTT token using AAI-DC-TKN-HO. Relaying MS broadcasts token status using AAI-DC-TKN-ADV MS2 requests the PTT token using AAI-DC-TKN-REQ/RSP Relaying MS pass the PTT token to MS2 using AAI-TKN-HO
