Background Incorporated as a city September 12, 1960, the City of Manvel was first settled in 1857 twenty miles southwest of Houston. During the 1960’s the city annexed several properties to bring our total area to 40 square miles. Manvel has continued its quick population rise with a growth rate increase from 2000-2016 of 203% and as of June 2016 an estimated population of 10,000.
