What is a direct object pronoun? In English, the direct object is an object that receives the "direct" action of a verb. That means that the object that receives the “direct” action can be a noun or a pronoun. The direct object pronoun also answers the question… “whom?” or “what?” compro What’s the action? How are direct object pronoun used? Direct object pronouns are used to replace direct object nouns. In English, we normally hear these replacement words as “it” o “them.” In the above example, I will replace the direct object noun (the dress) with its respective direct object pronoun. In Spanish, the direct object pronoun is placed before the conjugated verb . Yo compro lo el vestido. ( _______________________________.) I buy the dress. it.
