Determine how many penguins are in the figures: 1, 2, 3, 4, 10, 100 and n. Write an equation for the number of penguins.

Today’s Objective(s): I will be able to apply and extend previous understandings of numbers to the system of rational numbers. So I can continue to learn how to: Understand that positive and negative numbers are used together to describe quantities having opposite directions or values Understand a rational number as a point on the number line.  Understand ordering and absolute value of rational numbers. Solve real-world and mathematical problems by graphing points in all four quadrants of the coordinate plane. Including the use of coordinates and absolute value to find distances between points with the same first coordinate or the same second coordinate. I will know I got it when I can independently read and write the problems of my TEST with at least 80% accuracy. 6.ns.c.5-8

Vocabulary: Integers absolute value rational number coordinate plane Quadrant ordered pairs

DO NOW: Pass in your STUDY GUIDE Complete TEST! Pass in when done. (3) Select a choice activity worksheet and complete.

HOMEWORK: Make-up any missing work

Accommodations Read or reread presentation or activity directions, as needed or after prompting Use examples to model and act as a guide for emerging learners Small group as needed
