Identify Independent variable - the property that is being changed or manipulated by the scientist. There is only one in a good experiment. Dependent variable - the property that is being watched or measured by the scientist. Used to make a table or chart. Constants - the properties that are purposely kept the same so that the experiment is done well. There should be several in a good experiment.
