Course Description The focus of the course is to contributes to the overall education of students, most particularly in the area of communication, but also in the areas of cross-cultural understanding, intercultural learning, cognitive development, literacy and general knowledge. It provides access to the culture of communities which use the language and promotes understanding of different attitudes and values within the wider Australian community and beyond.

Why Study this? Assessment tasks Demonstrated achievement of the set of outcomes specified for the unit. Levels of achievement Units 1 and 2: Individual school decision on level of achievement. Unit 3 and 4: School-assessed coursework and end-of-year examination. Unit 3 school-assessed coursework: 25% Unit 4 school-assessed coursework: 25% Examination: oral component 12.5%. Written component 37.5%

Extra activities/costs? Nagle College would like to offer the possibility of experiencing life in Italy with all its unique opportunities. The trip to Italy in 2017 is the special chance to participate in a Study Tour to appreciate cultural differences and to improve fluency and confidence in the language.
