Did you know…… CCCECE has been an organization for over 20 years Catalysts and Board Members volunteer to serve on CCCECE We hold fall and spring meetings yearly in 10 different regions to keep both members and non-members informed on public, state, and local policies effecting the field, and offer professional development based on suggestions from members.

Catalysts & Board Member serve on the Chancellor’s Advisory Committee We have a CCCECE Website We rely on membership fees to sustain the organization We build collaborations and work to have representation on projects effecting the child development field (EPEC- CAP Expansion- 0 to 8 Credential -Teacher Competencies - CIP)

We spearheaded the Curriculum Alignment Project We worked to defeat the Teacher Education Preparation proposal on qualifications We spearheaded the Curriculum Alignment Project We host speakers at CAEYC Conferences at no cost to members- past presenters have included: Dr. Bruce Perry Ross Thompson Delaine Eastin Alison Gopnik

Where are we heading? CCCECE Strategic Plan 2013-18 Our Mission To serve as a dynamic voice for California Community College Early Childhood Education

2013-2018 Vision CCCECE will: Serve as an active stakeholder when decisions are made about ECE workforce development. Be the primary ECE teacher preparation/workforce development body. Partner actively with other organizations and maintain our unique focus and role of representing community colleges. Help shape and track ECE policy development. Serve as a resource to child development/early childhood education departments throughout the state.

5 Year Strategic Plan Goals: Promote the primary role of CA Community Colleges in Early Childhood Education and workforce development Increase recognition of the unique and central role of Lab schools in workforce development and efforts Develop and maintain effective partnerships with stakeholders that support our vision Cultivate leadership for the organization Build and sustainable funding for CCCECE Increase memberships
