Presentation transcript:

Writing On Wednesday (WOW)1 READ: Stephen Covey said, “Begin with the end in mind.” THINK: What goals do you have for this school year? WRITE: Describe one goal you want to accomplish this school year and the plan you will put into place to accomplish that goal. How does “beginning with the end in mind” ensure that you will be successful?

WOW 2 READ: J. K. Rowling has said, “Understanding is the first step to acceptance.” THINK: What does this quote mean to you? When have you seen acceptance in action? What are some ways that you can make a difference by being accepting? WRITE: Write about a time when you were accepting of others. What did you learn from the experience? OR Write about a time when someone was accepting of you. What did you learn from the experience?

WOW 3 READ: Islamic leader Ai Ibn-Abu-Talib said,” He who has a thousand friends has not a friend to spare.” THINK: Why is friendship so important? When we are learning to accept ourselves and others, we begin to accept that other people could accept us, too. Hence, we can trust ourselves to be good to our friends. With a growing circle of people to choose from, we can risk being ourselves, knowing that whatever happens, we can handle it. WRITE: Write about what it means to be a good friend. What can you do to show that you appreciate your friends and be a good friend to others?
