FEEDBACK AND PERSONAL REFLECTION

POSITIVE FEEDBACK It all started after our 1st activity. We stick the posters made by us around our school community and other communities near school. As we used us in the posters it created a huge impact on the viewers when ever they see us they remind us about the posters. After our posters we did a seminar where a lot of students participated, and then the enthusiasm they had during the workshop showed us we have succeeded in increasing their awareness. When conducting our survey the rapid responses we received made us realize that they care about road safety and they can remember the activities we did before. Also the way they shared the link with their friends and family showed us that we have created an impact on them by the seminars we conducted in school. The positive responses and help and the request made by our IB coordinator to do a presentation in the last assembly of the semester showed that they can remember what we did. Not only that the comments and the views on the videos and the article made us realized that we have managed to create an impact on people!

PERSONAL REFLECTIONS Butogwa I am very glad that I was able be involved in an issue of global concern .While I worked with my fellows on giving road safety education ,  I came to realize that I also sometimes do not behave responsibly while on the road and I therefore educated myself in the process. We needed to make some adjustments and additions to our first draft and this taught me about flexibility as an individual when it comes to dealing with issue of global concern. Moreover , though we faced some language barrier issues , we did our best in trying to reach both the Chinese and English speaking community and had lots of fun ! Butogwa Shija AIC Butogwa

Ihasivony I really appreciate being part of this CAS project. We had fun but also we were able to teach others and help them avoid crucial mistake while on the road. This journey had taught me a lot about myself and others. First I learn how to be patient because we had to re-do most of the things we did because we found many small mistakes. Second I realize the importance of working in a group because without my teammates we will never be able to finish all of those videos, posters and presentation. This project had also improved my awareness of road rules. I also hope that what we did can be beneficial for our classmates and community.

Sachi I am really happy that I organized this project as a CAS activity in my school because I learnt a lot while increasing awareness of others. During this project not only I figured out that I don’t obey road rules I learnt that I am responsible for some. Everything didn’t go smooth for us, we were turned down by lot of communities and stopped us from pasting our posters. No matter what we did our best to increase awareness in both the English and the Chinese speaking community and while doing everything we had fun! Sachi Jayathilaka AIC

Taddao From this activity I have challenged myself in many ways such as talking to people in public and trying to meet the objective of this activity. However, me and my teammates work collaboratively and able to get over all the fear and challenges. Moreover, tasks from the activity gave me experiences, friends and gave me opportunity challenge my ability in many ways. The most I have challenge is to get people participate in our activities.
