Presentation transcript:

Before I leave, I need to learn the rules of the road to keep me safe. Hello 3rd boys and girls! My name is Sally. Today I am going on a bike ride!

Are you ready to learn about bike safety?

First you need to wear a helmet! Helmets are important to protect your head while you are riding your bike. This will be very useful if you ever fall off your bike while riding.

It is very important to pay attention to street signs during your ride! These signs let us and cars no that it is time to stop and watch for other traffic. Like cars we must wait our turn This sign remind us to look for trains that might be crossing in the area.

Make sure to watch for cars!!

Always remember to look right and left before you cross the street!

It is very important to be respectful of pedestrians sharing the road

If you can, try not to ride your bike at night. For your safety do not ride your bike when it is dark outside. If you do ride your bike at night wear bright colors so vehicles can see you.

You should never go bike riding alone.

Now you are also prepared for the road! Goodbye! Thank you for helping me learn about bike safety!
