Computer Parts Poster This is one of the first wall displays that I added to my room. I have refined it over the years into the version that you now see. I have added QR codes to further details on each computer part. I used resealable food bags to keeps parts as that allows me to take the parts out and pass them around during demonstrations. Power Supply Unit (PSU) A PSU converts the DC power that is comes from your wall socket to regulated low-voltage DC Power for the components of the computer. Most modern PSU’s conform to the ATX Specification.
Motherboard Motherboard is the most common mane for the main printed board (PCB) found in general purpose PC’s. It facilitates the communication between all the components on a PC.
Central Processing Unit (CPU) Often referred to as the heart of a computer it is the electronic circuitry that carries out the instructions in the PC.
CPU Cooling fan This component cools the CPU using conductive material to extract heat away from the CPU.
Random-Access Memory (Ram) Is one of the fastest forms of data storage within the PC. It stores data and machine code that is currently being run on CPU.
Hard Disk Drive (HDD) A HDD is a electromechanical storage device used to store large amounts of data on a computer. The operating system is stored on a HDD.
Graphic Processing Unit (GPU) A GPU is a specialized electronic circuit designed to rapidly manipulate and alter memory to accelerate the creation of images in a frame buffer intended for output to a display device.
