Warm-Up - Shakespeare? What do you already know about Shakespeare? How do you feel about studying his work? Bonus Question: What kind of English does he use?

Shakespeare Quick Notes Add these under your warm-up. William Shakespeare: 1564-1616 Occupation: Poet and Playwright Country: England Language: Early Modern English Famous For: Rewriting older stories as hip new plays with fantastic language.

Shakespeare’s Words Choose a word randomly from the cup. Share your word with other students around you. Discuss the following: Are these words familiar or not? Do you hear these words in common conversation? Are they useful words? Tables prepare to share out.

Shakespeare’s Words Use a Microsoft Word document (not Google Docs). Include the following on the poster: Word and meaning How Shakespeare probably came up with it Example sentence Add illustration and decoration. Submit your completed poster to Turnitin.com.

Homework - Due February 4th Finish your poster and upload it to Turnitin.com by 5:30 pm. Turnitin.com will assign you a classmate’s poster to review. Complete all three questions before MIDNIGHT on the 4th. If you need a computer, I will be available at lunch and afterschool.
