Hard disk drive

Why is hard disk drive important? holds all the software that runs on your system and all your personal files.

What does the hard disk drive consist of? Disks Drive motor Gaps between disks Head motor Sealed case

disks A hard disk drive contains several disks which are stacked on top of each other.

drive motor What does the drive motor do? The drive motor spins the disks very quickly, it runs all the time your PC is in use.

gaps between disks What are the gaps used for? We need the gaps so the read/write heads can move across the disks and reach all parts quickly.

head motor What does the head motor control? The head motor controls the read/write heads.

sealed case Why is the drive in a sealed case? to keep out dust and smoke.
