“Big Rigs”

especially If something is especially important, it is very important.

Kitty’s friendship is especially important to her. If you were painting a picture, what would be especially important- a paintbrush or a pencil?

especially What part of the school day do you like especially? Why? What foods do you like especially? Why? What games do you especially like to play? Why?

memorize If you memorize something, you learn it so you can say it without looking at it.

Chris had to memorize his part in the play. If you wanted to memorize a poem, would you say it once or would you say it over and over again?

memorize Think about how you learned the alphabet. Did you memorize it? What other things have you memorized to learn?

sensed If you sensed something, you had a feeling about it before you were even told about it.

The bear roared when he sensed danger. What would you do if you sensed that a friend felt sad-scare your friend or cheer up your friend?

sensed If you sensed smoke in the air, what would you think? Why? Have you ever sensed that a storm was coming? What clues helped you?

capacity The capacity of something is the amount of space it has to hold things.

Does a car have the same capacity Big rigs have a large capacity. They carry many big or heavy things, such as cars and boxes. Does a car have the same capacity as a truck? If you were moving to a new home, would you use a car or a truck to move your furniture? Why?
