New Rules And Updates to Managers Manual

Junior Coaches and Volunteers - NEW A volunteer 16 and older with their RIS activity leader and registered on the team roster as an "assistant coach" is an official team designation, no equipment is required to be on the bench nor the ice for the handshake. A volunteer under 16 that wishes to be on the bench during games should be registered as "stick boy" on the roster and game sheet and as a official team designate does not require equipment to be on the bench nor on the ice for the handshake. A volunteer that does not wish to be on the bench for games only on ice for practice should be registered on the roster as an "on ice volunteer".

Replaced Initiation with new Intro to Hockey Program and Removed Novice Affiliations Removed current rules referencing novice affiliations as they do not apply anymore. Put in rules and policies for the Initiation and Novice Intro to Hockey Program

Adults in Change Room - NEW Players should be supervised at all times. Two adults should be present in the change room or just outside the change room with the door open/ajar. A lone personnel member should never be in the dressing room with players at any time, and especially when they are showering or changing: Two (2) adults should be present together; which is called the “Two Deep Method” of supervision. Should a player become injured and is removed to change room the parent or guardian is expected to join the trainer in the change room.

ABSOLUTLEY NO PHONES OR RECORDING DEVICES IN CHANGE ROOMS AT ANY AGE! THIS IS A VIOLATION OF FMHA RULES AND REGS AND FMHA PARENTAL CODE OF CONDUCT. From Rules and Regs: Anyone caught taking pictures or videos in change rooms will face severe disciplinary action including possible expulsion from the association. DISCIPLINE WILL BE ISSUED!!! NO MORE WARNINGS!

ALL TEAMS SHOULD HAVE THEIR LEVEL DIRECTOR ON TEAM SNAP.

Have a copy of the HCR (Hockey Canada Registry) on you at all games – both yourself and your HC should carry them which will be provided by the Operations Manager

All suspensions must be reported to your FMHA Level Director and President within 24 hours of notification. Failure to report may result in additional disciplinary action.

ADDITION: Ensure you verify the sheet BEFORE leaving the arena, especially if there are any write-ups. Corrections can only be made at that time.

Please ensure proper communication lines are followed at all times – under no circumstances should parents be contacting anyone aside from either their manager or coach. Breaches of the communication process are subject to disciplinary action.

NEW: All Tournament & Exhibition Games, including ones within HA Zone 5 (this is new for 2018-19) MUST be submitted to HA by 9AM the NEXT DAY

PHOTO DAY REMINDER It is required that teams be 100% dressed in full gear (minus helmets) at least 15 minutes prior to the team slot. FMHA provides to every player a team picture and an individual shot – additional options/packages will also be available at personal cost.
