Boys Basketball Informational Meeting

Expectations Academic Excellence Athletic participation is a special privilege in students’ overall high school experience and student-athletes must realize they are in school to get an education.  Student comes before athlete. We expect all our athletes to make a concentrated effort in all of their classes.  Student-athletes are expected to sit in the front row of class. They should conduct themselves in a manner as to be an example for others in the class. To be eligible for participation a student must have passed 5 class hours in the previous semester.  Grade and attendance checks will be done at throughout the season.  A student-athlete will not start if he has more than one D or F in a class. Starting is a privilege, and will not be granted to student-athletes not living up to our Academic standards.

Expectations Summary The BVW coaching staff and administration will expect the student- athletes in the BVW basketball program to conduct themselves as maturing gentlemen both on and off the court. They should display respect for authority as well as classmates and opponents and comply with the established rules of the school and the basketball program. My expectation is our student-athletes will provide a positive representation of Blue Valley West High School and set examples for others to follow.
