You will be responsible for any damage caused to your calculator or chromebook if not reported immediately. You also have the opportunity to check calculators out if you choose to do so! Textbook Each student will receive an Algebra I Springboard textbook. This is a consumable text that will be used on a daily basis. He/she will be responsible for properly using the book. Students will be responsible for paying for any book that is lost or damaged beyond usable condition. 15% 10% 40% 20% 15% Tests Quizzes Classwork Homework ACT Prep 20% LEAP 2025 Class progress reports will be sent home bi-monthly. Parents and students are strongly encouraged to check the Home Access Center on a weekly basis to view the most current grades for EVERY class. Technology In May of this school year, each student will be given the LEAP 2025. The LEAP 2025 is a state-mandated test that is given for graduation requirements. This means that in order to graduate from Chalmette High School, it is required that your child passes the LEAP 2025. Tutoring options may also be advised for some students to help them succeed on this test. I look forward to helping your child work toward their goal of excelling on the LEAP 2025.

Mrs. Jackson Cheating Technology Binder 9 Late / Incomplete Work Algebra 1* 9 Mrs. Jackson 2018-2019 Late / Incomplete Work Absentee Policy 2016-2017 * My expectation is that ALL assignments be completed to a level of proficiency (70% or higher) and turned in on time. If an assignment is turned in but proficiency is not demonstrated, the assignment will be returned to the student and the work must be completed / redone until proficiency is achieved. The assignment will not receive a grade until proficiency is earned. * Printer and Internet issues are not an excuse for late work. * YES, WE DID SOMETHING IMPORTANT WHILE YOU WERE ABSENT. * It is the student’s responsibility to check the class sorter to find any assignments missed. * A student has two extra days to turn in any work assigned on a day a student was absent. If a quiz was administered on a day a student was absent, the quiz must be made up on Wednesday during lunch. All quizzes/ tests are only to be made up on Wednesdays during lunch. If student does not show up, the assessment will be a zero. Technology Chromebooks and Calculators will be used almost daily in Math. Students are expected to abide by all school and district digital safety rules and guidelines. Failure to do so will result in said student being banned from technology while in Math. If chromebook/claculator is damaged, students will be responsible to pay for a replacement. Students are responsible for only using the correct number assigned. Cheating Binder Plagiarism is the taking ideas and writings of another and passing them off as one’s own. In this class, plagiarism includes... 1. turning in another’s work as one’s own 2. copying work from a friend before class (or while in another class) 3. Copying another students answers on an assessment of ANY kind Students caught cheating will be given a ZERO for the assignment and will result to a Class I. Binders should be kept organized. Binder quizzes will be giving randomly. Categories: Intro Bell Ringers Springboard / Notes Homework ACT Prep I, ________________________________________, have read and understand the rules and expectations for class. I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to contact my teacher if I have any questions or concerns. I know that this syllabus, assignments, calendars, and resources are available to me on the CHS website at any time. I know that assignments can be submitted digitally at any time and that printer/computer issues are not an excuse for late work.
