Remember: Do Now's are INDEPENDENT and QUIET exercises. Thank you  Welcome! May 8th, 2018 Tuesday Do Now Get out your weekly Bell Ringer sheet and begin working on Tuesday’s assignment. Once the bell rings, you will have five minutes to guess the meaning of the word. Make sure you explain your thinking! Remember: Do Now's are INDEPENDENT and QUIET exercises. Thank you 

Sadly, people often sully their own communities with litter. Read the following sentence and guess the meaning of the word sully based on the context. Sadly, people often sully their own communities with litter. To sully is to damage the purity or integrity of; defile. © Presto Plans

“Supertoys Last All Summer Long” Today, we’re going to listen to the audio book (and read along) to an Brian Aldiss story titled “Supertoys Last All Summer Long.” The story centers around sci-fi’s favorite question: “What does it mean to be human?” Fun fact: this is the short story that inspired the movie A.I. Artificial Intelligence (which we will watch this week!) Link to audiobook: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1jM9 o4an54

“Supertoys Last All Summer Long” Now that we’ve finished reading, it’s your job to respond to the reading questions on your handout. Just like with our previous questions, it will be your job to type your responses to the analysis questions on a document titled “Supertoys” and share it with my email: lanea@jenningsk12.us. If you finish early and would like some extra credit, in the same document, you have two choices: either write a continuation of the story OR write a new story set in the same universe. The amount of extra credit you receive will depend on the amount of effort you put forth into the assignment. Impress me! 
