Presentation transcript:

Saturday 4.12 Beam in the SPS at 09:30 Beam in the LHC at 10:00 Filling with 8 bunches / injection. No fundamental issues. Filling lengthened by stability of the longitudinal emittance blowup in the SPS (very sharp Qs) leading to bunch length interlocks from BQM and by problem with the TI2 FBCT (had to manually update bunch configs in the DB…). Not a record beam (1E12 in 137 bunches), but good enough for first fill. Stable beams fill 1536 at 14:00, L ~ 2.2x1025 Hz/cm2. Dump at 20:30, 0.4 mb-1. 12/26/2018 LHC 9:00 meeting

Saturday 4.12 Heater PS discharging for MB.A27.R5. MP3 suggests to continue operating (mask the injection interlock) and leave the heater discharging. As compensation: Survey the other heaters of the magnet. In case of another problem stop and repair. Survey the QPS_OK signals (since masked !) to detect any other problem on the circuit. 22:30 RQ6.R5 trip while setting up beam at injection. Access required. Access problem with EIS (MSI Pt8). Intervention of access piquet to fix an interface card. 04:00 PC finally fixed.. 12/26/2018 LHC 9:00 meeting

Sunday 5.12 During pre-cycle problem with RCBV10.R5B1. Since it is in the arc and very weak (few urad), decide to operate without this COD. Corrector taken out of PIC configuration. 06:30 Injection... Problem on BEM (Beam Energy Measurement) system of B2 – blocks LBDS. Expert intervention. 08:15 Again problems with LBDS. 12/26/2018 LHC 9:00 meeting

Today Stable beams. BGI calibration in ADJUST (orbit bumps) at the end of the next fill. 12/26/2018 LHC 9:00 meeting

On the list Low frequency (few Hz) oscillation on B2V Rogelio would be ready to take some data with the BPMs to see if we can localize the source. Acquire data during injection parasitically.
