Types of Financial Aid Grants: Money given to students based on financial need according to your FAFSA. Loans: Money you pay back until it is all paid off. Subsidized: Need based loans that offer extra benefits to the borrower. Unsubsidized: Loans for anyone but you pay interest from day 1. Work Study: Allows you to work part time on campus to pay for part of your tuition. Scholarships: Free Money! This is our goal! Need based: Scholarships factor in a family’s financial status. Merit based: Scholarships that award a student’s accomplishments, ability, involvement, background, unique traits or potential. Academic: Based on a student’s intended area of study Athletic

When is the best time to get scholarships? Start looking NOW Many scholarships target college bound high school students. There are scholarships available at all levels. Don’t stop once you graduate. Continue looking for free money!
