Project Overview Overview In this project you will learn the fundamental skills and processes required for using Autodesk 123D Design. All activities and tasks within this project will focus around the creation of a mobile phone accessory. The overall aim is to provide you with skills to be able to use Autodesk 123D Design independently either through the program or via the cloud.

Initial Ideas Starter Mobile Phone Accessories Working in small groups write down a list of accessories available on the market for mobile phones. Some examples are shown below. Cases ??? ??? Mobile Phone Accessories Stand Covers

Create the Design Brief in Your Engineering Notebook Use the example that you were give to help you set it up in your notebook.

Main Your Task Your task is to design and make a mobile phone accessory which could be sold in a shopping centre near to where you live. One constraint is that it must be portable, so could fit in their pocket, for when they go out.

Creating a customer profile All designs revolve around a client that it is intended for, an example is shown below. Client: A teenager who is very interested in playing various sports. At weekends and after school they like hanging around with friends and socialising after a hard day of learning!

What kind of music they like Creating a customer profile Working in pairs, use a mind map to think of as many things about your customer as you can. Remember to think back to the customer you chose earlier! Example: A teenager who is very interested in playing various sports. At weekends and after school they like hanging around with friends and socialising after a hard day of learning! Favourite colours What kind of music they like Sports Mobile Phone Accessory Other interests Where they might eat

Main Using 123D Design We will now take a brief look at the 123D Design screen layout. This is very useful in order for you to know where the menus are located, to speed up using the program. Try and remember these if you can, maybe even test yourself!
