A virus in the human body can infect the body and prevent it from performing its normal functions. The same way a computer also gets infected and starts malfunctioning when it gets infected by a virus.

There are three types of virus …..

We take antibiotic to cure ourselves from the effect of a virus. The same way a computer needs to be loaded with an antivirus program to detect and remove a computer virus.

There are different types of antivirus programs available. Some popular ones are : McAfee SmartDog Norton AntiVirus

There are three ways to remove a virus from your computer : Repair the infected files Repair the infected files Delete the infected files Delete the infected files Quarantine the infected files Quarantine the infected files

It eliminates the virus and repairs the infected files. It is the best choice when a virus is found.

It erases both the virus and the infected files. The virus and the file are gone forever. Select this option if repair is not successful.

Sometimes antivirus detects an unknown virus that cant be eliminated with the current set of virus definition files, or you have a file that you think is infected but is not being detected. Antivirus itself will store such files in a special area called Quarantine, or you can quarantine files yourself.
