The RULES of Business Attending the Classes Must be present in minimum of 75% of classes to appear in exams Attendance between 60 - <75% will have to pay a fine to appear for exams Less than 60% attendance will not be allowed to appear 5% of marks are awarded based on attendance Special circumstances can be discussed with Student Advisors

Marks for Attendance 90% or above = 5% 85% to less than 90% = 4% Less than 60% = no marks

The RULES of Business Preparing for Classes Geology is a new subject so more studies will be required in the beginning Be up to date with the class materials and come prepared Take notes during classes, DON’T depend on others Books are expensive, Use the LIBRARY Use INTERNET, Department has the facility

The RULES of Business Major and Minor (22 + 12 = 34 credit) Major has six 2-credit of Theory, three 2-credit of LAB, one 2-credit of Fieldwork and one 2-credit of Viva voce courses Minor has two 4-credit and one 2-credit of Theory and one 2-credit of Lab courses Half and Full Units or Credits All Geology courses are each worth 2 credits Two credits are 50 marks course. 25-30 lecture classes (50 minutes each) and 25-30 lab classes (2 ½ hours each) for each two credit courses

The RULES of Business Exams and Grading (Theory) For Theory courses, In-Course (25% of marks) and Course Final exams (70% of marks) will be taken. In-Course exams will be for 1 hour and Course Finals will be 2 ½ hours. At least one in-course exams will be taken which will be averaged (short question and/or MCQ type). MUST APPEAR. No second chance for in-course exams

The RULES of Business Exams and Grading (Lab and Field) 40% of the marks will be given as continuous assessment (attendance and performance in the course classes) 60% of the marks will be given in Final exams (lab courses) or Field report (field courses)

The RULES of Business Exams and Grading (continued) Only for Theory courses If a student secures less than 54% (C+ or lower) in the course final exam they can chose to give Improvement exams for only 20 credit of the Courses in four years of BS degree courses You can only sit ONCE for the improvement exam You can not get more than B+ in improvement exams There is NO Improvement for Viva and Field courses, in-course, Labs. Improvement exam will be recorded in the marksheet. Less than 40% marks will not be recorded in the marksheet

The RULES of Business There is no difference in importance between Major & Minor subjects ALL WILL COUNT EQUALLY IN YOUR RESULTS

PROMOTION 1st year to 2nd year = GPA 2.0 (D) 2nd year to 3rd year = CGPA 2.25 (C) 3rd Year to 4th Year = CGPA 2.25 (C) To be awarded the BS degree Complete the course within maximum of 6 years Scoring a CGPA of 2.5 including the improvement results No degree will be awarded with F in any of the course
