What is Service? According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, the literal meaning of service is the “contribution to the welfare of others.”

and in the largest of ways. Service Makes An… IMPACT! In the smallest of ways, and in the largest of ways.

Remember that all service is... MEANINGFUL because you are making a difference in your community and in the lives of others!

You, as a Key Clubber… …have a unique meaning of service. Every service project you do contributes to your definition of service.

How the Kiwanis Family Serves You The Kiwanis Family gives you the chance to serve for life Gives empowerment and confidence through service Gives you the opportunity to find your meaning of service Serves children, the future of our world

Different Types of Service Direct Service - Actively and directly affecting someone through service. Any project where you directly see the results. Examples Host beach/park clean-ups Volunteer at soup kitchens Work with special needs individuals Visit convalescent homes Tutor students

Different Types of Service (cont.) In-direct Service - Helping someone to help another. Any project through a different organization Examples Fundraise for our preferred charities Host toy, book, or clothes drives Assemble care packages to be sent abroad Make PTP dolls for the Pediatric Trauma Program Work with an established foundation at a run or marathon
