BRAND INFORMATION BRAND HISTORY FEATURES AND BENEFITS COMPETITIVE SET Founded in 1998 by famed winemaker Peter Sisseck (owner of Dominio de Pingus and PSI), Quinta Sardonia is located within the “Golden Mile” of the Duero River that stretches across northern Spain. Peter designed and supervised the creation of Quinta Sardonia, planting select red Bordeaux varietals just outside of the D.O. Ribera del Duero, insuring he and winery’s future winemakers would not be bound by the rigid guidelines governing neighboring appellations. The wines produced at Quinta Sardonia are classified as a Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y Leon, or ‘Wine from the Land of Castilla y Leon.’ Each bottling is considered to be a ‘multi-terroir, multi-varietal’ masterpiece, highly rated and in a class of their own. Today, the winery is owned by the Fonseca family, who also govern Bodegas Terras Gauda in Galicia. Peter’s former apprentice, Christian Rey, serves as the winery’s head winemaker and viticulturalist. FEATURES AND BENEFITS Christian Rey, a leading expert on Spanish biodynamic viticulture is dedicated to organic and biodynamic winemaking, and ensures the upmost quality and attention to detail in each and every bottle he makes. Terroir-driven wines are hand crafted using eight exceptional varieties, resulting in inimitable blends that convey the richness and complexity of the Duero River Valley COMPETITIVE SET Palacio de Arganza, Bodegas y Vinedos, Luna Beberide, Bodegas Alta Pavina, Bodega Tridente, Bodegas Aalto, Mauro

Red Blend, QUINTA SARDONIA KEY SELLING POINTS Considered to be one of the finest entry-level wines made within the Duero River Valley, this wine was first produced in 2014. Head-pruned grapes are planted in small plots and each variety is hand-harvested separately to preserve aromatic maturity and natural acidity. Containing a unique blend of 95% Tempranillo, with a 5% mix of Garnacha Tinta, Syrah, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Albillo. Extraction is kept to a minimum and wine is fermented with wild yeast strains in order to preserve the wine’s most fruit-forward and aromatic aspects. The six different varieties used in making this blend are aged in a unique combination of neutral French oak barrels, 1,200-liter foudres, concrete eggs and stainless steel tanks. Each lot is carefully monitored and blended a few months prior to bottling. Fresh, fruity, and aromatic with notes of fresh forest berries, red licorice, chocolate-covered cherries and sweet spice. Incredibly layered and complex for an entry-level Spanish wine. v. 2014: 90 pts Wine Advocate Castilla y León Red blend, SARDÓN The estate’s flagship wine, named after a local medicinal plant. Hand crafted from 100% biodynamic, estate-grown fruit planted at 1,600 feet in elevation and less than a mile from the banks of the Duero River. Comprising of a unique blend of indigenous French and Spanish clonal selections, chosen by the legendary Peter Sisseck, each vintage contains an important backbone of 70+% Tempranillo combined with a 20% blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petite Verdot, Syrah and Malbec. Handpicked clusters are harvested at the peak of ripeness and undergo a spontaneous fermentation with wild yeast strains in concrete eggs. The blended wine is then aged in French oak barrels for 19 months. Incredibly limited production of only 1,600 9L cs./year. Complex aromas of ripe red and black ripe fruit, wet flint, fresh tobacco and nutmeg abound on the nose and palate. Seductive, dense and elegant, rivals the best Bordeaux blends. Six consecutive vintages scoring >92 points from The Wine Advocate. v. 2013 94 pts. Wine Advocate Castilla y León Red Blend, QUINTA SARDONIA
