Road Map of the Presidencies of Spain-Belgium-Hungary Main priorities: Implementation of the Water Framework Directive Groundwater Directive Floods Directive Transposition of the Environmental Quality Standards for Surface Water Directive support the elaboration of implementation guidelines agreement on the revision of the list of priority substances Implementation of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive Adaptation to climate change in the field of water policy Water Scarcity and droughts action Agreement on the revision of the drinking water directive Integration of water related aspects in other community policies (esp. Common agricultural policy, cohesion policy and international co-operation) Identification of further needs in the European legislation on water issues 2

Road Map of the Presidencies of Spain-Belgium-Hungary Other issues: Mediterranean Water Strategy Elaboration and launch of the EU strategy for the Danube region called “Danube Strategy” Improvement of the co-operation with other international organisation (e.g. UNECE) in the field of water management, with special attention to the non-EU countries.
