Introduction In the beginning of the 1600’s France explored the Mississippi River; there they set up settlements across the region. By the mid 18th Century (1700’s) France’s settlement expanded into much larger plots of land. ________________ was the current president of the US at the time and he wanted to acquire the land of New Orleans for ________ dollars

Introduction In the beginning of the 1600’s France explored the Mississippi River; there they set up settlements across the region. By the mid 18th Century (1700’s) France’s settlement expanded into much larger plots of land. Thomas Jefferson was the current president of the US at the time and he wanted to acquire the land of New Orleans for 2 Million dollars

The Purchase In ____ Thomas Jefferson offered France again to buy their Territory for ___________ dollars, France most definitely accepted the US’ offer, but then negotiated to sell a lot more land for __________ dollars.
