Qualification for WC & OG Changes and Potential issues Changes of training methods—> adaptations for more competitions Preparation for major Competitions—> selection is close to deadline Competition planning & performance strategy—> Qualification Vs Champs Double events—> Hard task (need 5 + 5 good results) Importance of access in good competitions/meetings U23 & Medium/Entry level athletes will need extra help for long-term development

IAAF WORLD RANKINGS Next steps 1/2 Athletes, Coaches and MFs will have to adapt quickly IAAF and AREAS must secure and monitor a fair and transparent system with access to competition opportunities EA have to lead and assist the “adjustment” process of new system All stakeholders must help with comments and proposal on an ongoing basis Extra attention to U23 & Medium/Entry level athletes competitions

IAAF WORLD RANKINGS Next steps 2/2 Find balance in the categorization of the various levels of competitions We must work together with meeting organisers and athletes representatives for a new European one-day meetings system MFs must create good level competitions/cups/matches Whether European Athletics will follow this qualification system for Major European Competitions in near future?
