Goals for Today: I can understand what the expectation for the cafeteria. Talk through the goals for the day. You may even want your students to summaries what the goals for today are in their notebook.

Cafeteria Expectations Safety/Order Achieve Respect Goal Cafeteria Expectations Have the students draw a line under their reflection. They then need to draw this figure in their notebook. This will help to organize their thinking over the expectations in the cafeteria.

Cafeteria Expectations Safety/Order Walk at all times Stay in your seat Raise your hand and wait for staff to leave seat Use inside Voices Clean up around you Achieve Respect Goal Cafeteria Expectations Walk at all times – The cafeteria is a busy place during lunch time and it is important that we walk so we don’t trip and fall. Stay in your seat – Stay in your seat unless you are given permission to leave your seat. Raise your hand and wait for staff to leave seat – This helps us to get the cafeteria organized during lunch. Use inside voices – Since there are a lot of students inside the cafeteria at one time it is important that we use an inside to whisper voice to talk to our friends. Remember they are near us so we don’t need to talk loudly. Clean up around you – Remember to clean up around you so that all lunch period can move smoothly. Quietly stand in line with hands to self – When you are waiting, stand in line quietly with your hands to yourself thinking about what you want for lunch to help the line move quickly.

To help get use healthy we need to put healthy food into our bodies. Take what you will eat – Only take what you will eat. We don’t want to waste food.

Goal Cafeteria Expectations Be courteous to those around you – Remember that people are different from you and things you might do may offend someone else. Wait your turn – Everyone is hungry and ready for this time of the day. The more you wait your turn the more smoothly it will run. Use your manners – Use your manners and be polite to the people around you. Use please, thank you, and excuse me – Use your manners. If you want something use please before it. Once you have received it use thank you. If you need to reach in front of someone or burped use excuse me.

Cafeteria Expectations Students will now answer the goal by themselves. After about 2 minutes have them share with a partner.
