SUBCULTURE: The Meaning of Style Style in constructed through combination of clothing, music, dance, make-up. Outlines individual style differences of specific subcultures: reggae, punks. Even two unrelated things can be connected at a deep structural level. Different cultures such as white punk and black reggae are connected: they have similar styles.

It’s All Wrong, but It’s all Right: Creative Misunderstandings in Intercultural Communication Music is a form of transcultural communication that can be misinterpreted or misunderstood. Activity 1 Discuss among your groups about different forms of media and how they are culturally influenced and influencing. Can include a piece of literature, a movie, a song, etc.

Activity 2 Punk music reflected what society was going through at the time of its origin. Things went bad and Punk allowed musicians to show this through their music. Discuss how music today reflects our modern society.
