Chemistry Lorentz Plot Revisited – Mathematica this time
Add data to Mathematica chempeak={{400,0.09},{404,0.086},{408,0.087},{412,0.089},{416,0.094},{420,0.101},{424,0.109},{428,0.119},{432,0.130},{436,0.143},{440,0.157},{444,0.173},{448,0.189},{452,0.207},{456,0.226},{460,0.245},{464,0.264},{468,0.284},{472,0.302},{476,0.321},{480,0.337},{484,0.352},{488,0.366},{492,0.376},{496,0.383},{500,0.387},{504,0.388},{508,0.385},{516,0.367},{520,0.353},{524,0.336},{528,0.317},{532,0.296},{536,0.273},{540,0.251},{544,0.228},{548,0.205},{552,0.185},{556,0.165},{560,0.147}}
Make a ListPlot
Try FindFit to Lorentzian formula – it does not converge
Retry but give a starter value for the various parameters
Define Lorentzian function (note the underscores and the := ) Then plot the Lorentzian function
Use Show to put the data and fit together
