Warm-Up: Good Sonnet A sonnet has to have 14 lines and a specific rhyme and rhythm scheme. In your opinion, what makes a GOOD sonnet?

Table Share: Sonnet Topics Share some of your brainstormed topics with your table group. Pick a few to share with the class.

Write a Sonnet Rules Write your topic and message at the top of the page. Must have fourteen lines. Must follow ABAB CDCD EFEF GG rhyme pattern. Lines must be EXACTLY 10 syllables. Must use at least 3 literary features (simile, metaphor, allusion, imagery or personification). Write your rough draft in your notebook. Get a stamp for a finished rough draft and you can start your final.

Homework - Due February 24th Type a final draft of your sonnet. If you want, you can make it pretty, but do NOT use word art. Submit your final draft to Turnitin.com before 11:59 pm Wednesday night (2/24). Completed rough drafts will be stamped on Wednesday.
