STOP! Before you go any further… Self assessment strategies to implement before peer edit

Get Out Your Rubric (the blue sheet!) Do you have a strong thesis? Do you have three clear, unrelated points supporting your argument? Do you have an explanation and example for each point?

Did you provide enough information in your argument to prove each point? (if I ask “so what?”, will you be able to answer?) Did you organize your body paragraphs? (pretty good point first, weakest point hidden in the middle, strongest argument saved for last) Did you use THIRD person? Omit ALL “I”, “me”, “we”, “you”, etc.

Are all your sentences clear, concise and on topic? Do you have an intro paragraph, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion paragraph?
