Where Can I Find Business Office Information? https://www.rapoportacademy.org/administrative-documents (Employee Handbook, Calendars, Insurance Information, Change of Address Forms, Leave Forms, Tax Exempt Forms, etc.) Campus Leadership Business Office

About Criminal History Checks? What’s The Big Deal About Criminal History Checks? FIRST…It’s The Law Texas Education Code section 22.0835 says that a school district, open-enrollment charter school, or shared services agreement SHALL obtain from the Department (of Public Safety) all criminal history record information that relates to a volunteer or person who has indicated, in writing, an intention to serve as a volunteer with the school.

SECONDLY…It’s Our Responsibility Even though we are not a law enforcement agency, we have a responsibility to ‘serve and protect’ our students. We serve them through our teaching, and we protect them by taking a reasonable level of care to ensure we are not putting them in harms way.

It Doesn’t Have To Be A Big Deal Getting a volunteer approved is a simple processes; however, not following the guidelines is generally what makes it a BIG DEAL. Background verifications must be completed every year! You MUST allow TWO WEEKS for the Business Office to process a Criminal History Verification on a volunteer!! Until they have been cleared, they MAY NOT volunteer. Your campus leadership has access to the list of approved volunteers, so check with them.

Criminal History Verification Form? Where Can I Find The Criminal History Verification Form? https://www.rapoportacademy.org/ administrative-documents This form CANNOT be Duplexed

Employee Attendance & Leave Employees are expected to be reliable and to be punctual in reporting for scheduled work. Absenteeism & tardiness place a burden on other employees. If you know you are going to be late, or absent, you MUST complete a RAPS Absence from Duty Form in ADVANCE. If you don’t know in advance, contact your campus leadership or supervisor immediately to allow them time to make other arrangements for your class/job.

RAPS Absence From Duty Form? Where Can I Find The RAPS Absence From Duty Form? https://www.rapoportacademy.org/a dministrative-documents Should be submitted in ADVANCE, not after the fact (in most cases)

Work Related Injuries Do you need immediate/urgent medical attention? Notify your immediate supervisor of injury Yes No Seek medical treatment immediately at the nearest ER Complete Employer’s First Report of Injury or Illness Form Seek medical treatment if needed

injuries should I report? What kind of injuries should I report? ALL INJURIES should be reported immediately to your Campus Leadership or Supervisor (regardless of whether or not you need medical attention!) THEN… Complete the Employer’s First Report of Injury of Illness Form within 48 hours and submit to your Campus Leadership or Supervisor

Employer’s First Report of Injury or Illness Form? Where Can I Find The Employer’s First Report of Injury or Illness Form? https://www.rapoportacademy.org/ administrative-documents Remember…must be submitted within 48 hours of injury

IF you need medical attention, report the injury to your Campus Leadership or Supervisor, and GO! Keep in mind that this will be a workman’s compensation claim, and some providers don’t accept worker’s comp, so you might want to ask before you see the doctor. There is more information on the Workman’s Compensation network in your folder.

Where else can I find the Worker’s Compensation Network Information? https://www.rapoportacademy.org/ administrative-documents

Employee Appearance Dress, grooming, and personal appearance standards contribute to the morale of all employees and affect the professional image presented to students, parents, and visitors. All staff will be neatly and professionally attired and groomed at all times. Final judgment regarding any professional dress will rest with the employee’s supervisor and the Superintendent. RAPS has established the following guidelines for all employees:

Employees are encouraged to dress comfortably for their job Employees are encouraged to dress comfortably for their job. Jeans and knee‐length shorts are allowed. Hats and athletic wear (including athletic shorts, warm‐up pants, and yoga pants/tights) ARE NOT acceptable dress unless they are appropriate for the employee’s position (e.g., PE teacher/coach) or a specific activity (e.g., field day).

Clothing that is too revealing or too tight, or deemed inappropriate, (as determined by the employee’s supervisor or District Administration) is not allowed. This includes clothing that reveals cleavage, undergarments, holes in pants, etc. If leggings are worn, shirts must be fingertip length. Jewelry, makeup, and other accessories that disrupt the learning environment are not allowed.

Where Else Can I Find Information About Employee Appearance? https://www.rapoportacademy.org/ administrative-documents It’s in the 2018-2019 Employee Handbook, page 55.

Purchasing, Travel, Fundraising, etc. Procedures for… Purchasing, Travel, Fundraising, etc. These procedures are covered in both the 2018-2019 Employee Handbook and the 2018-2019 Procedures Manual After reviewing those resources, if you still have questions, contact your Campus Leadership or Supervisor to ensure you are following proper procedures. Failure to follow procedure, may result in you having to pay out of pocket.
