Peter’s Dreadful Denial He declared, “I do not know the man?” But Peter did know Jesus – better than almost anyone (Luke 4:38-39; 5:1-10; Matthew 14:25-21; 16:15-16; 17:3-8; 2 Peter 1:16-18) And he knew the doom of deniers! (Matthew 10:32-33; cf. 2 Timothy 2:12-13)

Grace to Stand The angel sends Peter a message by Mary (Mark 16:6-7 ) Peter looks into the empty tomb (John 20:6-7) Peter sees the resurrected Christ (John 20:19) Jesus reassures Peter by the Sea of Galilee (John 21:15-19)

Peter Stands! Peter stands before thousands on Pentecost and before the Jewish Council (Acts 2:14, 22; 4:1-12; 5:17-21) He writes to inform us that by God’s grace, we can stand too! (1 Peter 5:5-10; 2 Peter 3:17-18)

If You Have Fallen, by God’s Grace Arise and Stand! “Do not rejoice over me, my enemy; When I fall, I will arise; When I sit in darkness, The LORD will be a light to me. I will bear the indignation of the LORD, because I have sinned against Him, until He pleads my case and executes justice for me. He will bring me forth to the light; I will see His righteousness.” (Micah 7:8-9)
