Conclusion Paragraphs The Conclusion paragraph is the last paragraph of your essay. It should be around 5 sentences long.

Below is how your conclusion should be organized and what should go in each spot. Restate your thesis. Change the wording up a little bit—but just a little bit. Summarize your 3 points. In 2-3 sentences, summarize your essay. State your final thoughts. Leave the reader with an interesting final impression! What is the one thing you want me to remember from your paper? Imagine I missed the whole thing while I was reading. What would you want me to read at the VERY end in order to convince me one final time? Possible Approach: Connect what you’ve written to something outside of the classroom, to something about our country or about our world. For example, if you wrote about characterization, you might say something like, “The world can learn a lot from Odysseus. If more people were as compassionate and determined as him, the world would be full of successful and happy people because hard work leads to success and compassion leads to making people feel good about their lives.”
