Hello! I’m Mrs. Simon Teaching is an absolute passion of mine! I am so excited to work with you and your child! It’s going to be a year full of fun, learning, and a lot of adventures! Before we begin our year, I thought you might want to know about me and what to expect in the classroom. I am married to my wonderful husband, Paul, and we have four wonderful kids together. When they are not taking my time, I enjoy reading, watching Kentucky basketball, and being outside. We moved to the St. Louis area from Kentucky last year. So far, we love living in this area! I have been working in education since 2006. I have worked as an elementary and middle school teacher, a college instructor, and a special education assistant. I love working with students, no matter their ages or challenges. It is my mission for every student to shine and grow as learners! We will be learning many things this year, but focusing on reading and math. Students will need a 2” binder, which will serve as their S.T.A.R (Students Taking Academic Responsibility) binder. This binder will hold their take-home folder, behavior sheet, and learning data. This binder, along with e-mail, will be the key pieces of parent-teacher communication throughout the year. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. We are a team, and will work together to help your child be successful this year! Mrs. Simon Shannon.simon@slps.org
