The Khanates

Developments in China Forces led by Kublai Khan defeated Song (China). He renamed his dynasty the Yuan. Kublai admired Chinese culture, but tried to preserve Mongol identity. Cosmopolitan Values: Welcomed scholars, religious leaders, artists of all cultures to his court.
